CORAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

In a nutshell..

The study is an important endeavor in restoring the quality and natural beauty of the marine ecosystem in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

The main objectives of the project are [1] to conduct successful transplantations of the coral Acropora loripes, [2] to raise ecological awareness that will encourage people in helping the restoration and [3] to sustain this enhancement of the marine environment.

The project aims to increase the marine biodiversity in the area by improving the quality of environment for present and future generations through coral transplantation. Moreover, it aims to expand people’s knowledge and awareness on the social and environmental benefits of coral reefs, as well as various issues influencing coral survival.
