Local Government UThe Local Government Unit of Hinatuan is the sector responsible for the intimate welfare and well being of its people. As such it is also the sector responsible for taking care of its natural environment especially the highly delicate temperament of corals and other marine organisms.nit of Hinatuan

Center for Empowerment and Resource Development (CERD)

The CERD is an agency founded on the year 1978. The CERD’s core concepts are creating local coastal communities in which both humans and there environment can live in harmony. It has a vision of an environmentally aware local community.

Its humble beginnings can be tracked down to year 1978 when a certain group professionals created a program in which marine economy dependent locals are able to create partnership within members.


Department of Education -  Bayugan City Division

The Department of Education -  Bayugan City Division has always been supportive especially those involving environmental education.

Mr. Manuel O. Caberte, the Science and Information Communication Technology (ICT) coordinator of the the division led the coral transplantation project. With his technical knowledge and experience on coral transplantation, the project was planned and carried out successfully. He also encouraged the team to join the Cyberfair Competition 2013. He is also overall adviser of the FYR Organization. 

 Municipal Agriculture Office of Hinatuan

The  Municipal Agriculture Office of Hinatuan is the local government body responsible in agriculture. The municipal ,department is responsible for creating a well balanced equilibrium in the marine wildlife setting. Through the years, the office has greatly focused on the greatest commodity of the locale the coral reef marine environment.



Permission to transplant coral fragments on the Fish Sanctuary of San Juan was sought from the DMunicipal Agriculture Office of Hinatuan which manages the area. The officials of Barangay San Juan were contacted. The barangay provided site assistance.
